Again another really successful term with the iPods in PE.
With the focus of the term being on Personal and Social skills the year 8 unit of ‘team building, problem solving and orienteering’ was a perfect medium to showcase and develop these skills.
In addition the iPods were used to run a really successful orienteering course.
Across the ability range we saw the children progressing at a number of levels….
Personal, level 3 – “concentrating on a task and beginning to challenge themselves”
Personal level 4 – “persevere with a task and improve performance with practice”
Personal level 5 – “remaining calm when things become difficult”
Personal level 6 – “demonstrating resilience and sticking to the plan when under pressure’
Social level 3 – “cooperating well with others”
Social level 4 – “helping a partner or a group to make decisions”
Social level 5 – “negotiate and collaborating with others”
Social level 6 – “work effectively in competition and and contribute to team/group decisions”
Pupils at certain times showed all of these skills – look at the clip as an example…..
